La Palma - "La isla bonita"
The beautiful island, that is how La Palma is called by the people who live there, is the most Northwestern island of the Canary Islands. It lies 300 km west from Afrika/Marocco, in the Atlantic Ocean. It has a surface of 729 square km, is 42 km long and 28 km broad. It has ca. 100.000 habitants.
It is an island with a lot of differences: from the Ocean until the "Roque de los Muchachos", at 2426 meter high, you find a lot of sights, especcialy for hikers and naturelovers. It also has a lot of places to relax. If you want to go out, you can go to one of the discos in Los Llanos, Santa Cruz or Los Cancajos, but it's not an island with a nightlife like Tenerife or Gran Canaria! People come here to find their peace and rest and enjoy the beauty of the island!
